“Aaaand we’re back” —Kevin McMillan
It’s been two months, one half-semester and a plethora of assignments since the release of the 2013 edition of Pacific Rim Magazine on May 7th. We are now in our final semester before leaving the nest of the Publishing program here at Langara.
Each year, the class produces a new online version of PRM during the summer semester, putting to use our newly learned skills in web design and production. This year, we’ve got our work cut out for us. From the content of the print magazine being edited and repurposed for the web, to a completely new look to PRM with some lofty goals for aesthetics and usability for the web, in addition to creating an archiving system for the past 15 years of PRM, the class of 2013 will definitely be pushing themselves right to the finish line.
As if that wasn’t all exciting enough, there’s one additional bit of good news I’d like to share. PRM’s social media channels will have the addition of a new voice! Anthony Nerada will be joining me in bringing you the what’s what of the production of PRM online! He’s a master-twitter-er and an exceptional writer, so be sure to check back often as he’s got some great ideas for new material on the blog and our other social media platforms. Stay tuned!
