Whether visual or written, storytelling is at the heart of Alayna’s creativity. While her passion for writing has its roots in her childhood, her affinity for design started in high school. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.Sc., Major in Wildlife Biology, with an interest in working with animals. However, during her post-graduate years, she constantly sought creative and design outlets in work and volunteer experiences. While living in Canmore, Alberta, Alayna decided she needed a career change, and she stumbled upon Langara’s DPUB program. Most often found working on a book series, Alayna also dabbles in photography and cartography, and created maps for D. Wolfsbane’s book, The Ninth Scripture: The Hunt. She hopes her next career step will allow her to use her skills and creativity to help others tell their stories.
