Dee Farrugia is a self-taught comic book writer who has always found inspiration in art, videogames, movies, and comic books. She decided to join the Publishing program at Langara due to her love of all things comics. However, throughout that process, she discovered a much deeper love for graphic design and artistic expressionism. Dee’s art style is unapologetically alternative, taking inspiration from occult and macabre influences from movies and comics. She embraces the uniqueness in both herself and her writing, and believes that you shouldn’t be afraid of what others don’t understand and aren’t comfortable with. She believes that, by pushing those limits, anyone can create a reaction and lasting impact, which is what she strives for in her own work. After graduating from Langara, Dee hopes to work in the comic book industry and teach her son Liam the ropes of writing and being creative.
